I am a JSD (Ph.D. equivalent) candidate at Stanford Law School and a Ph.D. scholar in Stanford HAI Data Science, advised by Professor John Donohue. My research interests lie in empirical legal studies, gun control, and AI governance.
My recent work has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and as a National Bureau of Economic Research working paper. I was also named runner-up for the 2026 George L. Priest Prize in Law and Economics by the American Law and Economics Association, selected from 153 papers by pre-tenure scholars. I have also served as Managing Editor of the Stanford Journal of Law, Business & Finance.
Before coming to Stanford, I practiced law at Nishimura & Asahi in Tokyo, specializing in antitrust, WTO disputes, and M&A. I hold an LL.B. and J.D. from the University of Tokyo.
